Definitions

Infrastructure is reported through public charging sockets and installed charging capacity. Demand is reported through electricity consumption, charging sessions and aggregate charging time.

Quality assurance

Period labels, units, arithmetic consistency, ranking order and source coverage are checked before publication. Distinct source views are not merged unless comparability is supported.

Analytical limitations

Socket counts do not measure uptime or utilisation. Installed capacity is rated capacity, not delivered energy. Cross-source EV figures may differ because of scope and release timing.

Derived indicators: EVCify calculations include month-on-month and year-on-year change, EV-to-socket ratios, average installed capacity per socket and concentration ratios (CR2, CR5 and CR10).

The publication combines indicators with different release calendars. Each page identifies the applicable month or cut-off date; figures should be compared only within a compatible period.

TÜİK and ODMD values are presented as distinct market views. Differences may reflect classification, registration scope or release timing and are not treated as errors.

Distinguish stock, capacity and activity

Socket stock measures installed connection points; installed charging capacity measures rated power; consumption and sessions measure observed charging activity.

Interpret shares and concentration ratios

Market shares describe the stated denominator and period. CR2, CR5 and CR10 show the combined share of the leading two, five or ten entities; they do not by themselves establish market power.

Read projections as scenarios

Low-, medium- and high-case projections are conditional pathways, not point forecasts. Revisions indicate a change in scenario assumptions rather than a guaranteed future outcome.

Avoid unsupported efficiency claims

EV-to-socket, kW-per-EV and scale-versus-demand indicators support adequacy and positioning analysis. They do not directly measure uptime, utilisation, service quality or profitability.

Executive Summary

Four evidence-based themes define Türkiye’s EV and public-charging market in the July 2026 reporting cycle.

Infrastructure

Public charging infrastructure continued to expand in July.

Türkiye reached 46,597 public charging sockets and 3.676 GW of installed charging capacity at the end of July 2026. During July, 1,760 public charging sockets were added to the network. The network comprised 26,169 AC and 20,428 DC sockets, while average rated capacity reached approximately 78.89 kW per public charging socket.

Charging demand

June charging demand eased from May’s series high.

Public-charging electricity consumption reached 72,530 MWh and charging sessions reached 2,713,335 in June 2026. Consumption declined 5.8% and sessions declined 0.7% from May, while DC charging accounted for 81.36% of delivered electricity.

EV market

EV stock expanded while year-on-year sales comparisons softened.

TÜİK reported an EV stock of 445,939 through June 2026 and 81,171 EV sales year to date. ODMD reported an EV stock of 460,624 through July 2026 and 93,403 EV sales year to date. Both source views showed softer year-on-year unit-sales comparisons and are retained separately because their reporting calendars and classifications differ.

Competition & geography

Demand remains concentrated across operators and cities.

The ten largest CPOs represented 68.71% of June 2026 public-charging electricity consumption, while the ten highest-consumption cities represented 70.38%. İstanbul and Ankara together accounted for 42.45% of reported national charging demand, underscoring the geographic concentration of charging activity.

Outlook signal EPDK’s April 2026 scenarios raised medium-case EV projections for 2030 and 2035 while lowering the corresponding public-socket projections. The revision implies higher projected EV-to-socket ratios and reinforces the importance of capacity, location and network-quality planning.

Data Coverage, Analytical Conventions & Limitations

Conditions that define how the indicators in this publication should be interpreted.

Reporting periods Infrastructure stock is reported through July 2026; charging consumption, sessions and city demand through June 2026; TÜİK vehicle indicators through June 2026; and ODMD indicators through July 2026. Source-specific reporting periods are preserved rather than forced into a common cut-off.
Sectoral dataset DC charging infrastructure by site sector remains based on June 2025 data and is identified as a lagged source dataset. Regional socket stock is current to July 2026, while regional installed-capacity data uses the full 21-region June 2026 source dataset.
Infrastructure indicators Socket stock and installed charging capacity describe network scale. They do not measure availability, uptime, utilisation or service quality.
Charging-demand indicators Electricity consumption and charging sessions describe recorded activity. They do not independently establish revenue, profitability or customer experience.
CPO comparisons Operator rankings are based on the metric shown on each page. Rankings across sockets, consumption and installed capacity are not directly interchangeable.
Vehicle-market sources TÜİK and ODMD series are presented separately because publication timing, vehicle coverage and classification may differ.
Concentration ratios CR2, CR5 and CR10 represent the combined share of the two, five or ten largest observations for the stated metric and period.

Standard terms, units and analytical measures used throughout the report.

AC charging Alternating-current charging. In public networks, AC sockets are commonly used for lower-power and longer-dwell charging.
DC charging Direct-current charging used for fast and high-power public charging.
Charge Point Operator (CPO) An organisation responsible for operating and managing EV charging infrastructure.
Public charging socket A connector or outlet recorded as part of the publicly accessible charging network.
Installed charging capacity The sum of rated socket power, expressed in kW, MW or GW. It is a nameplate-capacity measure, not delivered energy.
Charging session A recorded charging transaction or charging event in the source dataset.
Electricity consumption Electrical energy delivered through charging activity, reported in kWh or MWh.
EV stock The number of electric vehicles in the relevant source-defined vehicle population at a stated date.
Market share An observation’s percentage of the stated market total for a specified metric and reporting period.
CR2 / CR5 / CR10 Concentration ratios equal to the combined market share of the largest two, five or ten observations.
Year to date (YTD) The cumulative period from the start of the calendar year to the stated reporting month.
